By studying one of our Travel & Tourism study programmes you will be able to gain the key skills and knowledge necessary to get a head start in this industry. Study programme units focus on worldwide tourist destinations, marketing and event organisation. You will also have the opportunity to work towards additional qualifications including our Cabin Crew training.
Our students also enjoy trips away including: a three day trip (including overnight ferry) from Hull to Rotterdam and Amsterdam; a day trip to Edinburgh and a residential trip to Malta. We have also visited British Airways to complete their practical safety training day and have explored British seaside resorts such as Brighton and Southend.
Industry opportunities
You will benefit from the excellent links we have with local employers who regularly come in as guest speakers and assessors, or to deliver full sessions. For example, staff from Swissport have previously come into College to interview students on our Level 3 course and Thomas Cook attended our recruitment and selection event where they interviewed students wanting to become children’s representatives at their overseas resorts.
Other companies we’ve worked with include Ryanair, easyJet, Flitwick Manor, TUI, Menzies, The Embankment Hotel, Henlow Grange, Thameslink and Harrods Aviation. All of this helps you to develop the skills that will make you more employable and successful when applying for jobs.
Expert tutors and top-class facilities
You will benefit from the expertise and contacts of our tutors who have worked in the travel and tourism industry including roles as cabin crew, holiday representatives, travel agents, tour operators, conference and event organisers.
Our specialist facilities and equipment include life jackets, oxygen masks, interactive globes, trolleys, PA systems, dictaphones and flip cameras, and computer software to simulate airport check-in.
Student success
Our students have a strong track record of finding fantastic employment after their study programme and have gone on to work for companies including Kuoni and TUI.
