National College for Logistics launches Driver Academy to tackle HGV driver shortage
The National College for Logistics (NC4L), part of The Bedford College Group, has launched a new Driver Academy at its campus in Leighton Buzzard, with plans to train 80 HGV drivers over the next 12 months and help address the ongoing shortage of professional drivers. The Driver Academy was officially opened by Alex Mayer, MP for Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard, on Thursday 10th September. Around £325,000 has been invested in vehicles, specialist equipment, training resources and infrastructure for the new Academy, which is being delivered in partnership with specialist logistics training provider SP Training.
