WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Applying for a study programme with The Bedford College group is simple. Just follow the steps below to apply for your chosen course type. Alternatively contact us for more information or if you need any help applying.
WHAT TYPE OF STUDY PROGRAMME ARE YOU APPLYING FOR?
1. Shortlist your favourite study programmes and attend an open day
Visit here for the full list of study programmes, or to pre-register for one of our Open Days.
2. Apply online
Apply for your chosen study programme. If you do not have access to a computer you can complete your application at any of our campuses.
3. Receive an offer
You will be invited in for a group interview to find out more about your course. You will also have the opportunity to meet your tutor. You will leave with a course offer.
4. Attend your Welcome Day
You will be invited to attend a Welcome Day in late June or early July, where you will get a taste of college life, meet your tutors and make new friends.
5. Enrolment
You will be invited to enrol on to your study programme between late August and early September. Don’t worry if you don’t get your grades, you can get advice at our Open Day on GCSE results day.
6. Start your study programme!
Term starts in September.

2. Apply for your course
You may be able to apply for your chosen course online or you may need to contact our Customer Contact or Business Development teams. Each course page will show the different ways to apply.
3. Receive an offer
Following your application you may be invited for an interview in order to receive an offer of a place. Many of our leisure courses do not have entry requirements so it is simply a case of paying for your course, if required.
4. Enrolment
You will be invited to enrol with the Customer Contact Team once you have your offer, we advise within two weeks of getting the offer.
5. Start your course!
To apply for an apprenticeship you must be 16 or over. Here are your steps to success!
Step 1: Find a vacancy
Step 2: If you find an apprenticeship you are interested in, check you meet the criteria and complete the online application form.
Step 3: Your application will be reviewed by our Recruitment Team within 48 working hours.
Step 4: You will be invited in to meet with the Recruitment Team to complete your English and maths assessments and to discuss your application before it is sent on to the employer on the vacancy closing date.
Step 5: After you have visited our Recruitment Team we will keep in contact with you with other available vacancies and support you in finding your ideal apprenticeship.
Step 6: Once you have been offered and apprenticeship you will be enrolled.
Stage One: Submit your application online
The application process to apply for our courses is different depending upon which type of course you are applying for and whether you want to study full-time or part-time. Don’t worry – you can find full information against the course details on our website or in this guide.
Full-time courses – HNC, HND and Foundation Degrees
You can submit an application for our full-time courses through the Universities & Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) or directly to us. We can take applications received through the UCAS scheme up to 29 January if there are still vacancies on your course but we do advise you to apply earlier. We will also accept applications through UCAS Extra and Clearing.
Part time courses
If you would like to study a part-time HNC, HND, Foundation Degree, a teaching qualification, Access to Higher Education course or the Art & Design BTEC Foundation Diploma then you will need to apply directly to the College. Visit here.
Stage Two: Selection process
For the majority of our courses you will be offered a place based on meeting the entry qualifications for your course. However, for some courses you’ll need to attend an interview with one of our tutors to ensure that the course you’ve chosen is right for you.
Stage Three: Receiving an offer
You should receive a formal offer of a place on a course within one week of receiving your application or within one week of the interview (if applicable). Offers will be made through the UCAS portal and via an email (full-time courses) or via an email for part-time courses.
Stage Four: Enrolling onto your course
After A Level results day you will receive an email with a link to an on-line form to complete prior to attending an in-person enrolment event where we will complete your enrolment and issue you with an ID card.
Stage Five: Starting your course
You will receive details of your course timetable at enrolment however term typically starts in the middle of September.
