Independent LivingIf you have just left school and have a learning difficulty or need extra support to help you improve and develop your independent living skills, this flexible programme will enable you to choose a range of subjects that best suit your individual needs. This course is specifically designed for 16-18 year olds, although, if appropriate, we do consider applications from older students.

Entry requirements
You do not need any qualifications or experience to start this course, but you must have evidence of good attendance at school.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Most subjects are continually assessed and you will need to keep a portfolio of your work, which will be examined by external verifiers.

During this course you can study a variety of topics depending on your ability and long-term aims, including:
- English and maths
- Community
- Independent living skills
- Enterprise
- Tutorial and PSHE
- Work preparation
- Undertake a work placement

Course progression
This course will significantly increase your options and you may go on to work-based training or continue your education / training at Tresham College.
Additional information
This is a full-time course which can run for up to three years, dependent upon your ability level upon entry. The course starts in September of each year and you will need to attend college four days a week.
