WHAT ARE T LEVELS?
T Levels are two-year, full-time technical qualifications for 16-19 year olds who are ready to take the next step after their GCSEs. Equivalent to three A levels, they offer a recognised alternative to A levels, apprenticeships and other post-16 courses.
With a combination of classroom learning and an industry placement, T Levels give students the knowledge and practical skills that employers value. You will spend 80% of your time in the classroom building essential theory, with the remaining 20% on an industry placement, gaining at least 45 days (approximately 315 hours) of real work experience.
A T Level can open the door to university, a higher apprenticeship or employment, giving you a strong route into your future career.

Why choose T Levels?
All T Levels have been designed in collaboration with leading businesses and employers to ensure the skills you learn reflect real industry needs. You’ll gain the knowledge, behaviours, and technical skills that will give you a head start after College.
Every T Level includes a substantial industry placement lasting at least 45 days. You will spend 80% of your time in the classroom building the knowledge employers value, with the remaining 20% applying these skills in real life. Placements can help you build confidence, develop professional skills and understand what a career in your chosen industry could be like.
T Levels are nationally recognised qualifications and are equivalent to three A levels. Your final certificate includes an overall grade, as well as details of the technical skills and knowledge you have developed during your course, helping employers and education providers understand what you’re qualified to do.
T Levels can support a wide range of next steps. You could progress to university or higher education, move into a higher apprenticeship, or use your skills and placement experience to take your first step towards employment. T Levels also carry UCAS points, with a Distinction* worth the same as three A Levels at A*, meaning they are recognised by universities and other education providers.
T Levels cover a wide range of subjects within each industry area, opening up numerous progression routes and potential career paths. While you focus on a specific technical area, the skills and experience you gain can support a variety of roles and opportunities after college.
