How it works
- Our service offers guided self-help for various mental health and wellbeing difficulties
- Guided self-help is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles and aims to equip people with strategies to manage low level mental health difficulties
- When we receive a referral, you will be invited for an initial assessment where we will explore current difficulties – we will then decide which kind of support will be best for you
- We offer sessions on a 1:1 basis and small group workshops where appropriate
- The wellbeing team will be working with tutors to incorporate wellbeing workshops into tutorials.
As a student with The Bedford College Group you will be assigned a professionally trained Personal Achievement Tutor when you start your course who will give you continual, one-on-one support throughout your time with us – from regular tutorials that give you the opportunity to discuss your College work face-to-face, to help with personal development including producing an individual learning plan, tailored to your future aspirations. You will also meet your tutor together with the other students in your tutor group to keep you informed of everything going on at the College or to work on group issues such as career planning skills.
