Overview
Music HND (Full time)The HNC and HND in Music are designed to equip students with the skills necessary for employment in the modern music industry, offering a practical pathway into roles such as performer, producer, songwriter, or artist. The HNC year builds upon the skills developed during Level 3, focusing on key subjects including music theory, instrumental techniques, songwriting, and the use of digital audio workstations (DAWs) for recording, editing, and mixing. Additionally, students explore music business topics such as portfolio development and an understanding of the various roles within the music industry.
Following the completion of the HNC, students can progress to the Level 5 HND, where they will further develop their skills and have the opportunity to specialise in a specific area. HND students can choose to focus on either production or performance, while also gaining a solid foundation in both disciplines. Throughout the course, students work in state-of-the-art music facilities, collaborating with industry professionals and creating a portfolio of work to enhance their career prospects.
