Electrical Installation (Level 1)

This qualification is for those wanting to enter the Plumbing or Electrical industry.  It gives you the opportunity to pick up some core skills and knowledge and gives you the opportunity to progress onto either our Level 2 & 3 Plumbing or Electrical Installation qualifications.

These qualifications are aimed at learners who want to learn the basic skills and knowledge of either Plumbing or Electrical Installation.

Need to know

Entry requirements

Essential:  3 GCSEs grades 9-1

and a keen interest in the subject OR qualification at Level E3.

Other relevant levels of qualification or experience will be considered.

What qualification will I gain?

  • CG Level 1 Diploma In Electrical Installation 7202-01
  • GCSE Maths Grade 4 or above
  • GCSE English Grade 4 or above

How will I be assessed?

Through portfolio evidence, assignments, online exams and practical assessments.

Course content

If you are enrolled on the Electrical qualification, you will study wiring and terminals, fabrication techniques, and electrical science and technology.

  • Structure of the construction industry
  • Fundamental safe working practices
  • Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
  • Site preparation in the construction industry.

Our workshops and classrooms are set up to provide the most realistic environment we can to simulate a realistic industry environment. All staff have extensive industry experience and have high expectations of all students. We prepare the students for a professional qualification, will supporting needs and barriers to learning. Students are expected to attend college, be punctual and follow a professional code of conduct.
