You will study:
Unit 201 – Health and Safety and Industry Practices
Unit 202 – Electrical Science
Unit 203 – Electrical Installation
Unit 204 – Electrical Technology
Skills gained
- Working safely in the electrical industry, including understanding health and safety legislation, safe systems of work, risk assessments, and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Applying electrical science and mathematical principles, including DC circuits, electromagnetism, electrical calculations, and the principles that underpin electrical installations.
- Using tools and equipment safely and effectively for electrical installation work.
- Installing wiring systems and containment, such as trunking, conduit, cable tray, and other cable management systems.
- Terminating and connecting electrical accessories, including sockets, switches, junction boxes, and other electrical components.
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and technical information to support installation activities.
- Understanding electrical installation technology, including electricity supply systems, circuit protection, isolation procedures, and final circuits.
- Working professionally within the construction and building services sector, understanding industry roles, responsibilities, and environmental considerations.
Please note that achievement of this qualification alone does not make the holder a competent electrician. Further training would be required to achieve this.

Equipment costs of circa £95 will be require to purchase overalls, safety boots and textbooks.
