Creative Media HND (Full time)

Media production Tresham

Overview

Creative Media HND (Full time)

HND Creative Media continues the journey started in HNC with a closer look at documentary film and the current employment opportunities in the film and video sector, before moving into a developmental period of skills and analysis completing with the production of a final film that shows off your skills and creativity.

Whilst the HNC has considered the role of fictional production in the industry, the HND draws on all the creativity and puts you into a documentary environment.

The year culminates in a video production that is of your own design and intention  allowing a personal direction towards your career ideal.

Next steps

Course progression:

From this course some students decide to add a top up to a Bachelor’s degree in a linked subject such as Film Production or Media Production.

Some universities allow this move to level 6 in one year.

Career progression:

There is a range of work in the film and video industry that can be supported from the skills gained in the course. This includes camera crew and camera operator work, editing and production management work, often with an intent to move to the DoP or Director’s chair.

Additional information

Often students choose to invest in their own production equipment as the course develops, making themselves ready for moving into a career, but this is not essential.

There are some optional trips and there will be some recommended texts to purchase, again, these are advised.
