Creative Media HNC (Central Bedfordshire College)

This HNC and HND qualification allows students to develop higher level skills in camera, lighting and editing whilst also extending their appreciation of film and the methods that moviemakers use to generate enthralling cinema.

Need to know

Entry requirements 

Students should hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English, and a strong interest in video and film production.

Ideally students should have achieved 84 UCAS points. Anybody falling short of these requirements is still invited to apply and will be invited for an interview.

Assessment methods

All work is assessed through development of coursework, portfolio assignments and practical work, including full productions. There are no exams.

Course content

What will I study?

Students on the course will study a combination of practical skills, key concepts and theories with a focus on video and film production.

The will include working with a variety of cameras and lighting techniques, developing editing processes and workflows, and looking in depth at the processes of cinematography.
