Barbara

Hair and make-up has always been a passion of mine, but until now I’ve only done it as a hobby. I’ve been out of education for a while but this is something I have always wanted to do, so I’m finally on my way to fulfilling my dreams.

Before starting this course I had spent a year at Bedford College improving my English skills. My goal at the end of my time at College is to apply to Center Parcs for a job within their spa.

The course covers everything from facials to massages, electro micro-current to make-up and waxing. We have client sessions two to three times a week.

The tutors are all lovely and offer plenty of support. I’ve found it easy to get back into education; if you want something then you can achieve it.

My favourite thing about working in the beauty industry is the effect the treatments have on the clients, whether it’s a massage that helps them to feel less stressed or applying make-up that makes them feel really happy and confident in themselves.
