Learners will gain an understanding of the principles and practices of assessment and demonstrate their competence in carrying out workplace assessments in person. The qualification is suitable for those already carrying out assessment duties or those preparing to become vocational assessors.

Practitioners will need to be qualified/experienced in a vocational area and meet the requirements for assessment as specified by the assessment strategy of their vocational area qualification. This is usually a level 3 qualification and relevant experience.
