Adult Functional Skills English

Functional Skills (Maths and English) are qualifications that prepare you for GCSE. They are designed to help learners gain the confident and skills to use Maths and English in everyday life, be it work or school. In our college they are offered on the following levels:

English: Functional Skill Entry Level 1, Entry Level 2, Entry Level 3, Level 1.

Maths: Functional Skill Entry Level 3 and Level 1.

Running at: Kingsway (Main Campus, Dunstable), Dallow (Luton), Incuba (Dunstable).

Need to know

Entry requirements:

For our entry levels, you must achieve an appropriate pass mark on the assessment paper. For higher levels the same unless you can provide evidence of a previous qualification.

Qualifications gained:

Respected Functional Skills level qualification.

Application process: Apply online, invited to attend an interview with subject tutor and complete an initial assessment to determine level.

Next steps

Many learners progress onto GCSE or seek employment.
