Manor House Restaurant Hosts Event for Local Business Owners

5 Manor business event

In June, the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce hosted a membership event at the newly refurbished Manor House Restaurant situated at Tresham College, Corby.

This event followed the official re-opening of the restaurant, which has had an extensive refurbishment in recent months. Attendees had the chance to network with other businesses and most importantly trial the food and drink on offer which was made and served by Hospitality and Catering students. As well as being open to the general public, the restaurant will be available to hire for corporate events.

As a Platinum Partner of the Chamber, Tresham College, part of The Bedford College Group plays an integral part within the events and businesses involved with the locality.

Large communal spaces across The Bedford College Group are ideal for local businesses and organisations to host membership meetings or conferences where local business owners and representatives can network and nurture business relationships within the locality. It is also a fantastic opportunity for Hospitality and Catering students to hone their catering, serving and communication skills with new people.

As Executive Director of Curriculum, Robin Webber Jones addressed the attendees, giving background about the Group and outlining how employers can hire the restaurant.

Robin said,

“These events are a perfect opportunity for our Hospitality and Catering students to hone their catering, serving and communication skills with new people. Similarly, the relationships we build with employers at these sorts of events not only showcase our fantastic new facilities but also keeps our students at the forefront of their minds when they consider recruitment and business development in future.”

Kate Denne, Events Manager at Northants Chamber of Commerce, said,

“It’s lovely to be able to host our membership events at The Bedford College Group’s facilities as it adds another dimension to the event. Not only are our members networking, but they are supporting young people from the local community with their courses – and able to benefit from such delicious restaurant-quality food!”

The Manor Restaurant will be taking larger bookings and private hires again in September, due to the start of the academic year. A new opening schedule and booking system is under development for circulation in the coming months.
