Our ambition for the careers and progression support across The Bedford College Group is that every student is equipped to move confidently into successful futures.
Through the guidance, skills and knowledge they develop during their time with us, students will be prepared for their next steps and recognised by employers for their strong technical abilities and readiness for the workplace.
Our Student Advisers provide personalised careers and progression guidance designed around each learner. This ensures support is relevant to their study programme, aspirations and intended destinations.

Industry Placement & Work Experience
As part of your study programme at TBCG, you’ll complete an industry placement, work experience or work‑related activity, depending on your course. You will be supported by your tutors, assessors and our dedicated Work Experience Team in finding opportunities that align with your programme and future goals.
If you are studying a T Level, you must complete a minimum of 315 hours of course‑relevant industry placement. Staff will guide you through the whole process from identifying suitable employers to helping you reflect on your experience afterwards.
We work with a wide range of employers across the region, giving you access to valuable opportunities that help build your skills and confidence. Real workplace experience strengthens your understanding of your chosen industry and helps you stand out when you progress from college.
How we support you:
- Help you secure a suitable placement through our employer network
- Prepare you for the workplace
- Complete health and safety checks
- Encourage reflection through your online logbook
- Check in with you regularly to ensure your placement is progressing well
