Are there any extra costs associated with my course?

Do I need to pay for my course?

If you are aged 16-18 on 31 August 2024, a British resident and studying at Level 2 or Level 3, your course is fully funded. This means you don’t have to pay any tuition fees or exam registration fees.

Enrolling

Do I need to enrol if I am a returning or progressing student?

If you’re coming back for the second year of your course, you will need to complete a Student Declaration form to confirm your enrolment. This will be done with you at your scheduled Advancer Day.

If you were unable to attend your Advancer Day, please contact us using LiveChat or by calling 0345 658 8990 as you will need to complete a Student Declaration form before your enrolment can be confirmed.

If you are progressing onto a new course or level, then your enrolment will not be confirmed until you receive the results of your current course.

If you meet the conditions of your offer, then you won’t need to do anything else and we’ll see you on the first day of term!

In the unlikely event you don’t meet the conditions of your course, don’t worry – just come along to one of our GCSE Advice Days on Thursday 22 August, and we will be able to discuss your next steps.

How do I enrol as a new student?

You will be invited to an enrolment event to meet your tutor, confirm the correct course, and finalise your enrolment. Before attending this event, you need to ensure you have completed the online forms sent prior.

When can I enrol?

The online enrolment forms will be sent prior to the in-person event. If you are waiting on results, then the second form will not be sent until after you have received these. In person events will be communicated in advance but will be held at the end of August through to start of term in September.

What do I need to bring to my enrolment session?

Please bring your results with you, as your tutor may wish to go through these with you.

I can’t attend my face-to-face enrolment session.

Please get in touch with our Customer Contact Team as soon as possible so we can arrange for you to come in on an alternative date. Contact us on LiveChat via our website or call us on 0345 658 8990.

Please note that parking at some sites is limited.

What can I wear to college?

Generally, students are free to wear whatever they like as long as it is not offensive to others. This means that you cannot wear anything too revealing, no offensive wording or logos, and nothing that may conceal your identity (unless your religion requires this).

However, some courses will require you to wear specific clothing or uniform, or to follow a department dress code – you will be told about this at your interview and reminded during your first weeks of term.

I'm feeling very anxious and nervous about starting college.

If you are worried or concerned about anything whilst you’re at college, you can seek advice from your Personal Achievement Tutor or Student Services.

Most full-time students are assigned a professionally-trained Personal Achievement Tutor from Student Services and you can turn to them for support at any time. They can also help to suggest any other services which may be able to help outside of college.
