Overview

Women's Hairdressing Level 2 Certificate

This Level 2 study programme will focus on the development of the underlying principles and practical skills required in the hairdressing industry, and will prepare you for progression onto higher level study. You will learn how to consult with clients, promote products and services, along with developing a variety of hairdressing techniques to include cutting women’s hair, colouring hair to create a variety of looks and styling hair using a variety of techniques.

Gaining this qualification will provide better employment opportunities to work in the industry. This City and Guilds international certificate gives you the opportunity to work both locally or abroad. We offer a high street salon experience with external clients for assessments, building skills and confidence.

Entry requirements

Essential:

  • 3 GCSEs grades 9-3 ideally including English and maths
  • or a level 1 qualification in Hair, Beauty or Barbering

Desirable:

Experience of working in a salon environment.

What qualification will I gain?

City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Hairdressing.

  • Ongoing practical assessments throughout the duration of the course for the practical element of the programme
  • Online end of unit exams and assignments

Funding Information

The College offers an instalment plan for Further Education and Higher Education courses to students where the total amount payable at the point of enrolment is £200 or more. Within the scheme there is an ability to pay up to 6 instalments, depending on the length of the courses and the final payment must be paid at least a month before the end of the course.

If you are aged 19 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. Alternatively, you can pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.
