Water Regulations Training BPEC Level 2 Certificate

This course is aimed at practicing plumbers wishing to become Approved Contractors (plumber) by providing evidence to the Approved Contractors schemes that appropriate training has taken completed

The training may also be relevant to people not wishing to become approved but whose role involve having knowledge of compliance with the Regulations and Byelaws. Such as, designers, specifiers and site managers.

It will help you to implement the Water Regulations and Byelaws competently, not only in new installation work, but also to ensure you are able to recognise and rectify contraventions that you come across in existing water supply systems.

Course information

No formal qualifications are required before starting this course although the candidate must be working within the plumbing industry.

Aims of the course

  • Become familiar with the contents of the Regulations and Byelaws across the four nation of the UK
  • Generally understand what the Regulations and Byelaws mean, and recognise the role of the Regulations and Byelaws in preventing waste, misuse, undue consumption, contamination and erroneous measurement of water
  • Know how to comply with the Regulations and Byelaws in practice
  • Be aware of the primary and secondary legislation underpinning the Regulations and Byelaws
  • Have an understanding of the documents used to enhance and explain the meaning of the Regulations and Byelaws

The assessment comprises of the following:

  • a written assessment
  • and where necessary additional oral questions may be asked by the assessor

On completion of this course you can look to undertake further short courses such as Domestic Hot Water Systems.

The candidate must work through a home study pack before undertaking the training and assessment. This will be supplied on payment of fees for this course.
