Katie

Before joining this study programme I studied Animal Care at Shuttleworth College. I decided to continue my education on this Uniformed Public Services course because I would like to be a Dog Handler, either in the Army or the Police.

Our tutors all come from different services backgrounds, including the RAF and the Marines, so we learn a lot from their experiences and the stories they tell us. They’re very friendly and you can talk to them about anything you need help with. We also have speakers come in from the Army, RAF and the Police to talk to us about their services and the different job roles available.

I prefer College to school because you have more freedom and can focus on what you are interested in rather than having to study lots of different subjects.

Once I complete Level 2 I would like to move on to the Level 3 programme and then go straight into work before progressing into one of the services.
