Understanding Retail Operations NCFE Level 2 Certificate (Distance Learning)This qualification aims to provide you with an introduction to the retail industry to those new to or seeking employment in this area. You will develop an understanding of the different aspects of working in the retail sector. This qualification also aims to prepare you for progression into a range of higher level qualifications within the retail sector, including more practical qualifications where your knowledge can be put into practice.
All of the Level 2 courses are free. These courses last up to 16 weeks and you can start them at any point throughout the year, and complete them in your own free time.

Course content
What will I study?
The units you will study are:
- Understanding customer service in the retail sector
- Understand the retail selling process
- Understanding how individuals and teams contribute to the effectiveness of a retail business
- Understanding how a retail business maintains health and safety on its premises
- Understanding retail consumer law
- Understanding how to deal with customer queries and complaints in a retail environment
- Understanding the handling of customer payments in a retail business
- Understanding the control, receipt and storage of stock in a retail business
Next steps
There are several next steps that you can take. You can go on to study another Level 2 distance learning course or a Level 3 one. Alternatively, you could enrol on to our Access to Higher Education course or other further education courses (subject to entry requirements).

Please note that an administration charge of £100 will be charged if learners do not complete the course within the allocated 16 weeks.
