Overview
Understanding Behaviour that Challenges NCFE Level 2 Certificate (Distance Learning)By studying this course you will gain an understanding of how behaviour can be perceived as challenging. You will investigate the underlying issues that affect behaviour and the impact it can have on others. You will learn how to identify behavioural changes and triggers that may escalate behaviour. You will then investigate how strategies and support plans can promote positive behaviour. Legislation that protects the rights of the individual will also be investigated. You will gain an understanding of the impact communication can have on the management of behaviour that challenges. You will investigate the role of positive reinforcement and techniques to de-escalate behaviour. You will also gain an understanding of referral services available to support the individual.
All of the Level 2 courses are free. These courses last up to 16 weeks and you can start them at any point throughout the year, and complete them in your own free time.

Course content
What will I study?
The units you will study are:
- Understand how to prepare to manage an incident of behaviour that challenges
- Understand how to manage a situation when an individual is acting in a challenging manner
- Understand own role in providing support following an incident of challenging behaviour
- Understand how to recognise that an individual’s behaviour has the potential to intensify
- Understand legislation and support relevant to behaviour that challenges

There are several next steps that you can take. You can go on to study another Level 2 distance learning course or a Level 3 one.
Alternatively, you could enrol on to our Access to Higher Education course or other further education courses (subject to entry requirements).

Please note that an administration charge of £100 will be charged if learners do not complete the course within the allocated 16 weeks.
