Team Leader/Supervisor (ST0384) Level 3 Apprenticeship

A Team leader or ​supervisor is a first line management role, with operational and project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions, and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role.

College attendance

If completing optional CMI course; one evening a week.

College Day Release intakes

None unless taking optional CMI course.

When can the apprentice start employment?

When offered job role and start date agreed with employer.

When can the apprenticeship training start?

Training can start as soon as employment has begun.

Course Content

The apprenticeship covers a range of Skills Knowledge and Behaviours. Whilst studying you will be supported throughout the program to develop Knowledge of understanding different leadership styles, team dynamics, organisational strategy, and project life cycles.

You will investigate governance and compliance, management techniques, and feedback mechanisms. Skills developed during the apprenticeship will include how to manage people, communicate effectively, reflect on your own performance, and manage resources and risk.

Throughput the program we will support the development of behaviours such as professionalism, taking responsibility and having an inclusive approach.

Entry requirements

Maths Grade 9-4 and English Grade 9-4

Further study and career options

Course progression:

Progression to Management CMI Level 5 Career progression: Potential Full-time employment options on completion, Nearly 2 years in industry experience as well as transferrable skills. Career role progression to an Assistant Manager, Manager.

Apprentices may choose to register as Associate Members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of leadership and management, to support their professional career development and progression.

Additional information

There is an additional fee of £270 if you decide to do the optional CMI course.
