It’s never too late to take these core qualifications, which can open doors to a whole range of further, higher education and career development opportunities. The Intensive English course provides tuition of 4 hours from Monday to Friday for 2 weeks.

Entry requirements
You do not need any qualifications to start this course; however you must be 19 or over, a UK/EEA citizen and have a minimum Level 1 ability in spoken English.
You will be asked to complete a face to face assessment for the English course to assess at Level 1 or Level 2 Â before a class offer can be made.
How will I be assessed?
Depending upon the level at which you study, you will be entered for a Pearson Functional Skills qualification in English, available from Level 1 to Level 2 for the Intensive 2-Week Courses.
You will work towards a nationally recognised Functional Skills qualification* with a focus on Level 1 to Level 2 (equivalent to grade 4 at GCSE).
Course content
You will study a range of topics to improve your skills in:
- Speaking
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Grammar
- Vocabulary
End of Week 1
- all students will take the Speaking, Listening & Communicating assessment (Presentation & Group Discussion)
End of Week 2
- all students will take the Reading and Writing papers.
