Sport

Rian

I play basketball competitively and my aim is to reach pro basketball level. I’ve always enjoyed sport because my dad played a lot of it. I never really enjoyed playing football, but when he took me down to the basketball courts one day I just loved it and have played ever since. I currently play for Bedford Thunder.

I love being able to spend time training at College, but also enjoy the theory work. Everyone is easy to get along with because we all enjoy sport and the tutors are very understanding and helpful, so no one falls behind. We’re trusted and given more freedom at College, and because the tutors give you respect, you want to show respect back by getting your work done on time.

Once I’ve completed my Level 3 at College I want to join a bigger basketball team to access better coaches and then hopefully travel overseas to train up. If I don’t make it as a professional player then I’d like to stay in the industry and work as a Personal Trainer.
