This course is a great starting point for anybody that would like to work with the public. Whilst the course mainly focuses on careers in the police, fire service, prison service, army, navy and RAF, we will be able to support you with a wide range of career goals.

3 GCSEs grades 9-1.

What qualification will I gain? 

Level 1 BTEC Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies (Public Services).

How will I be assessed?

Your assessments throughout this course will continuously monitor your progress; these could include practicals, research tasks, worksheets or presentations.

  • Working with Others
  • Finding out about Public Services
  • Researching a Topic
  • Planning and Navigating a Route
  • Responding to an Incident
  • Developing a Personal Progression Plan
  • Carrying out Security Searches
  • Taking Part in Fitness Testing
  • Taking Part in Sport

How will I learn?

You will be able to learn in a fun and interactive environment with a tutor that is experienced in teaching a range of public services courses. You will learn through a variety of different methods including practicals, interactive sessions, videos, presentations and self evaluations.

Level 2 Uniformed Public Services, Motor Vehicle, Engineering, Sport, Health and Social Care.

What are the expected employment sectors for this course?

The Armed Forces or the Blue Light public services.

Funding Information

All full-time Level 1 and Level 2 courses are now FREE for everyone, whatever their age. If you are looking to study a Level 3 qualification, courses might still be free if you’re under 19 or 19-23 and studying your first full Level 3 qualification. Whether you need to pay a fee and how much will be dependent on the programme you choose to study. For more information call 0345 658 8990.

If you are aged 19 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. You can also pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.
