Level 1 Award in Preparing to work in Adult Social Care.
How will I be assessed?
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: written assignments or tasks* such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams or setting up an information board.
Coursework throughout the year with Achieved/ Not yet Achieved criteria.

Preparing to work in Adult Social Care:
- Introduction to the adult social care sector.
- Introduction to the values and principles of adult social care
- Awareness of the skills and attitudes needed to work in adult social care.
- Awareness of communication in adult social care
- Awareness of the roles and responsibilities of the adult social care worker.
What skills will I gain?
- To be able to understand the skills and attitudes essential to work in adult social care
- Be able to identify own skills and attitudes essential to work in adult social care
- Be able to identify own skills and attitudes that require further development.

Career progression:
Although the qualification does not qualify learners to work in adult social care it does support them in preparing for the “next steps” either in training or moving towards the world of work.

Funding Information
All full-time Level 1 and Level 2 courses are now FREE for everyone, whatever their age. If you are looking to study a Level 3 qualification, courses might still be free if you’re under 19 or 19-23 and studying your first full Level 3 qualification.
