Peterborough: The King's Trust Team Programme (Level 1)This is a 12 week, full-time, personal development programme for young people aged 16-25 years old.
It will give you:
- a better chance of moving into a job, education or training
- an opportunity to use your skills and gain new ones
- a nationally recognised qualification
- help with job-hunting and writing your CV
- the chance to make a difference in your community
Most importantly the programme will give a big boost to your confidence and a real sense of achievement!

Need to know
Entry requirements
It is desirable but not essential that you have Entry 3/Level 1 in Literacy and Numeracy.
What qualification will I gain?
The King’s Trust Level 1 Certificate in Employment, Teamwork and Community Skills.
How will I be assessed?
This course is 100% coursework-based.
Course content
What will I study?
Amongst other things you will:
- be part of a team of people working together for 12 weeks
- take on community projects of your choosing
- take part in an exciting, action-packed residential week
- get two weeks’ work experience in a field you are interested in

- Community Project
- Planning for Personal Development
- Presentation Skills
- Supporting Other People in the Community
- Teamwork Skills
- Work Experience
Next steps
Following completion of this course you can progress to a Level 2 study programme, traineeship or apprenticeship (depending on existing GCSE grades).

You will also be involved with:
- Outward bound residential
- Two week work placement
- Employer visits and trips
- Community Project
- Team challenge
If you are aged 16–25 the course is free and will not affect your Jobseeker’s Allowance.
Various non-academic certificates will be made available for those who pass each unit and activity.
