Overview
Pathways Study Programme (Tresham)The Pathways Department is for individuals operating at Entry Level 1 and above. Our courses provide opportunities for students to develop important independent life skills: learning and educational study skills, employability, social and personal skills.
Classroom based learning is enriched by a range of practical activities, community projects, work experience, small business enterprise, enhancement activities, outings and trips.
Students can benefit from additional learning support, smaller group sizes and sessions delivered by subject specialists. In addition, we promote interaction with a range of community providers and support agencies to provide an ever-evolving platform of opportunities for independence and progression.
Initially a one-year course, individuals may progress within the department or on to other college-based programmes.
All of our students work towards achieving either Functional Skills or GCSE qualifications in English and maths (dependent on previous achievement or assessment).
Our programme focuses on skills development both in the classroom and community. Practical experiences provide evidence for a portfolio-based main qualification with the option of additional awards where appropriate.
