Overview

Mechanical Engineering HND (HTQ Part time)

The Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND is a specialist pathway developing the skills and competencies for someone interested in progressing a career in mechanical engineering or wanting to progress to a top-up degree. It develops employability and academic study skills and is developed by Pearson industry experts to meet Eng Tech registration requirements.

This course helps students develop the qualities and abilities necessary for roles that require personal responsibility and decision making. Students will develop and apply their own ideas to their studies, learn to deal with uncertainty and complexity, to explore solutions, demonstrate critical evaluation and use both theory and practice in a wide range of engineering situations. By the end of Level 5 study, students will have a sound understanding of the principles in their area of specialist study and will know how to apply those principles more widely in the industry. They will be able to perform effectively in their specialist area.

All units are supported by industry experienced staff in purpose built labs extensively equipped for this subject area.

This is a Part time route with all content delivered over two years.
