Mechanical Engineering HNC (Full time)
The Level 4 HNC lays the foundation of higher learning in mechanical engineering. This develops and strengthens core skills while preparing students for specialist subjects at Level 5 or to enter employment and will be competent in a range of subject-specific and general skills and qualities relevant to key areas of engineering.
This HNC (HTQ) is specifically designed for students wishing to progress in mechanical engineering. It provides a good grounding in Engineering whilst providing a specialism at higher level in a range of mechanical subjects.
All units are supported by industry experienced staff in purpose built labs extensively equipped for this subject area.
This is a Full time route with all content delivered in one year.

Course information
Essential entry criteria:
- BTEC Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma with an overall grade of Merit or above, or
- A Levels in Maths and Physics achieving grade C or above, or
- Level 3 T Level in Engineering with overall Merit or above, or
Entry may also be gained to the course based on suitable industry experience or alternative qualifications to be determined at interview.

Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering for England.
Assignments, in class time constrained assessments, multiple choice questions.
This course allows progression to a Level 5 HND in Engineering, or may allow entry to the second year of a degree program.
There are no additional mandatory costs once enrolled, however the team may recommend text books and equipment that students could purchase to practice at home.
Various trips to support modules may be offered throughout the year dependant on company availability. Previous trips have included manufacturers, automation plants and power stations.
