Marketing (T Level)

This qualification is for you if you are a 16-19-year-old learner, who wishes to work within Marketing. It has been designed to deliver a high level of knowledge about the sector as well as the occupational skills required to enter the industry through completing a minimum 315-hour industry placement.

The Bedford College Group will work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. Employers will provide demonstrations and talks on the industry as well as work placements.

The T level course combines academic study with a substantial industrial placement where taught skills can be further developed. There are strong links with employers and a focus on developing employability skills. During the two-year programme, students will learn the core knowledge that underpins the Marketing industry, and will develop occupationally specific skills that will allow them to enter skilled employment within Marketing.

Entry requirements

Essential: 4 GCSEs grades 9-4 including English and maths

T Level courses are for 16-19 year olds who have completed their GCSEs.

What qualification will I gain?

Pearson Level 3 T Level in Marketing.

How will I be assessed?

  • Two externally marked exams in each year
  • One externally marked employer-set project in each year

Industry placement

Minimum 315-hour industry placement across the 2 years of study.

Course content

What will I study?

You will study:

  • The Core component which covers the underpinning knowledge, concepts and skills that support threshold competence in the sales, marketing and/or procurement area of business.
  • The Occupational Specialist component which covers the knowledge and skills required to demonstrate threshold competence in marketing.

Students learn about the following topics:

  • The business environment
  • Principles of marketing
  • Principles of sales
  • Principles of procurement
  • Legislation and regulation in marketing, sales and procurement
  • Sustainability in business
  • Communication in business
  • Project management
  • Impact of technology on the business environment
  • Legislation, regulation and ethics in the business environment.

Next steps

T Level programmes are developed in collaboration with employers so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work.

T Levels provide the knowledge and experience needed to progress to highly skilled employment, an Apprenticeship or higher-level study, including university.
