Introduction to Networks CISCO Academy CCNA Part 1Begin your journey into networking. This is the first of three Cisco CCNA professional courses that will provide you with the skills and knowledge to achieve industry recognised qualifications including: CCENT, CCT, CCNA & CCNP. The course includes classroom theory & practical delivery, with online resources via a virtual classroom to help further your understanding.
The need and reliance on a sophisticated network infrastructure is ever increasing, and therefore it is imperative to ensure that the future workplace IT professionals possess a solid foundation in networking concepts.
The Cisco CCNA 1: Introduction to Networking certification provides comprehensive training on fundamental networking principles including the OSI model, TCP/IP, switching and routing. Our dedicated Cisco Networking room provides the essential hands-on environment that employers expect prospective employees to be competent in and as a result, provides a safe-to-fail environment where troubleshooting is strongly encouraged to build resilience.
CCNA 1 certification program focuses on practical skills, including troubleshooting common network issues. This translates into a more capable IT team that can identify and resolve network problems swiftly, minimising downtime and improving overall operational efficiency.

Essential:
- Cisco IT Essentials
- CompTIA A+
- 12 months or more experience in an IT support-related role
Desirable:
- CompTIA Security+
- 12 Months or more experience in a networking role.

How will I be assessed?
Weekly online chapter exams to be completed in your own time. A final Cisco CCNA online exam to be completed at the end of the course.

Funding Information
Pay by instalments
The College offers an instalment plan for Further Education and Higher Education courses to students where the total amount payable at the point of enrolment is £200 or more. Within the scheme there is an ability to pay up to 6 instalments, depending on the length of the courses and the final payment must be paid at least a month before the end of the course.
