Hospitality and Catering Introductory (Level 1)

Hospitality & Catering students at Central Bedfordshire College (CBC)

Overview

Hospitality and Catering Introductory (Level 1)

The level 1 certificate offers a supportive foundation of practical skills and knowledge across 3 sectors within the industry (Kitchen, Patisserie skills and Food and Drink service) to assist with moving to a higher-level qualification and gain essential industry related skills to support industry behaviours and employment.

To support Food Hygiene regulations, a level 2 food safety qualification will also be completed within the first 4 weeks of programme.

The Manor House Restaurant is our key tool to deliver sessions under realistic working conditions.  With one dedicated session per week, this will enhance employability skills, industry related behaviours and an opportunity to showcase prior learnt skills.  With close relationships with various employers and professional organisations, these stakeholders input value information and professional skills to support assessment and future employment
