Garden Design Level 2 Certificate

This course will introduce you to the basics of garden design. The course aim is to give an overview of the key areas you need be a successful garden designer both amateur and professional. We cover topics from design principles, plant knowledge, computer aided design and the science behind plant growth. By combining these you will finish with a good understanding of the basics that are needed to enter this fast paced and rewarding industry.

This part time qualification is one day a week and allows you to plan around your current commitments. If you are considering a career change or just want to learn more for your own garden. This is the course for you. It is a broad course covering all the areas of horticulture that link into a successful garden design process from start to finish. You will be taught both in the classroom and within our walled garden, where you will have access to different planting areas, landscape features and opportunity to practice your skills learned from theory sessions.

Entry requirements

Essential: A keen interest in garden design and a willingness to develop your skills within horticulture

Desirable: Previous experience as an amateur gardener with and interest in garden design

What qualification will I gain?

Gateway Level 2 Certificate in Garden Design.

Through Portfolio evidence.

Additional information

  • You will need to purchase a scale ruler, pens, pencils and a compass.
  • Steel toed capped boots will be required for practical work.
