Fashion & Textiles HND (Part time)The BTEC Higher National Diploma qualification in Fashion & Textiles incorporates an enhanced work-related curriculum that is designed to equip students with the right skills and competencies for the workplace, or progression to Higher Education (BA HONS TopUp). This extends from the Level 4 programme to further develop and refine students in preparation for the next stage in their career.
Higher Education at Tresham is taught by Art & Design specialist practitioners, with extensive vocational and academic experience. Flexibility of the full and part time courses allow students to manage work and family commitments alongside study requirements. In addition, competitive course fees and additional supporting bursaries enable more accessible learning.

Course information
1. Students from HNC will be required to have successfully passed their Level 4 year and demonstrated commitment to progress to the next level.
2. External students will be required to attend a portfolio interview with subject staff and give evidence of prior learning within the subject area and must complete a Level 4 programme of study prior to acceptance on level 5 HND there are no optional modules – all content must be completed.

- Unit B2 – Professional Project / Final Major Project
Core modules
Unit B1 Personal Professional Development
This assessment unit further enables the practice and development of underpinning knowledge, understanding and proficiency of creative practice through exploration of the subject area, in addition a developed refinement of approaches is expected at the level.
Unit B2 Professional Project
This assessment unit is designed to give students the opportunity to consolidate and apply their learning through the production of a portfolio of work and exhibition.
The method of assessment is via evidence-based submissions – recommended and types of evidence may include:
- A portfolio of development work and outcomes.
- Physical and digital prototypes.
- Written reports, essays or case studies.
- Planning and research documents, files and links.
- Audio and visual presentations.
- Exhibitions of outcomes
BTEC Higher National Diploma in Fashion & Textiles.
Course progression:
Progression to BA TopUp and or employment / Postgraduate and Masters Degree programmes.
Career progression:
Garment Designer, Stylist, Fashion Marketing, Textile Designer, Print Designer, Fashion Buying, Costume Design, Fashion PR and Pattern Cutting.
