Overview
End of Life Care NCFE Level 2 Certificate (Distance Learning)This unit aims to develop your knowledge and understanding of end of life and palliative care including different attitudes to death and dying, the aims of and approaches to end of life care and the support services available, it will provide the knowledge and skills needed in order to provide support for managing pain and discomfort, including how to minimise pain and the approaches to managing pain. You will gain an awareness of the impact dementia can have on an individual’s end of life care and will learn how to support those individuals and their family and friends.
This qualification looks at the role of a care worker around the time of death of an individual, including how to support an individual, how to care for a deceased individual and legislation around this and the process of loss and grief, to gain an understanding of how to support people following bereavement and how to manage your own feelings of loss and grief.
All of the Level 2 courses are free. These courses last up to 16 weeks and you can start them at any point throughout the year, and complete them in your own free time.
Please note that an administration charge of £150 will be charged if the course is not completed within the allocated 16 weeks.

Entry Requirements
You will be required to complete an initial English and Maths assessment, where you must achieve over a Level 1 to have access to the course.

Written assignments (online).

- enrol on to an Access to Higher Education course or other further education courses (subject to entry requirements)
