Electrical & Electronic Engineering HND (Part time)Please note that this course is nominally over two years, students with an appropriate HNC may complete the course in one year of a day release. This course has a strong vocational focus and is ideal for those of you who are looking to gain employment in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. We have a proven track record for student success in this area, and you can choose from a wide range of subjects within the Electrical and Electronics Engineering disciplines. The HND qualification is a nationally recognised standard in Engineering, and the employment opportunities are many and varied. People with proven skills in Electrical & Electronic Engineering are in great demand both in the UK and overseas. You can also use your HND to gain direct entry to Year 3 of a BSc degree programme at a university in the UK.

To start this HND you must have successfully completed the HNC and entry is subject to a successful interview.
This course will cover:

- Engineering Design.
Teaching is focused upon a student centred approach, with an emphasis on you designing and evaluating electrical and electronic circuits and systems. You will be using Computer Aided Design packages as well as undertaking practical circuit work. You will be assessed by a programme of continuous assessment. This programme will comprise a combination of individual assignments, group assignments, project work and some formal tests.
On successful completion of the HND you will have the option to top up the qualification to a full Bachelor’s degree at university or enter employment. The course can allow you to take advantage of management opportunities within the industry.
The course is available in a number of part-time modes of attendance: two years of study based on two days of attendance per week, OR, three years of study based on one day of attendance per week, OR students already holding a suitable HNC may complete an HND on one day of attendance in one year.
