Digital Media Intermediate (Level 2)

This 2 year course is designed for those with an interest in photography, animation, graphics and media. Throughout the first year of your course you will get the opportunity to try many different aspects of Digital Media to discover what you enjoy and what you have a talent for. You will be taught by tutors that have industry experience in many different fields. At the end of your first year you will have the opportunity to specialise in one area, either photography, graphics, media or animation for your second year.

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs grades 9-1 OR equivalent, and a keen interest in the subject.

Other relevant levels of qualification or experience will be considered.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through a variety of methods for each unit. Most of the units are project based, so allow you to be creative in the research that you do and the work that you produce. There are no formal exams.

Course content

What will I study?

This course will give you an introduction to several different aspects of working in the Digital Media sector. The units that you will cover are Contextual Research, Solving 2D Creative Problems, Solving 3D Creative Problems, Communication Skills, Media Project.

 Location

All lessons take place at our Digital Media building, The Store, in Dunstable.

How will I learn?

You will learn through a mix of theory and practical sessions. You will be encouraged to get involved in all of the different aspects of Digital Media.

What additional work outside of college will I need to do?

You will be given tasks and projects to complete outside of college, which form the basis for your coursework.
