OverviewDesign & Development for Engineering and Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering (T Level)
In your first year you will study an Engineering common core, before specialising in Mechanical Engineering in Year 2. The second aspect of the course will be a work placement where you will gain on the job technical skills relevant to your course.
As part of the course you will be set a work-based project which will allow you to apply the knowledge and skills you have gained.
GCSEs at Grade 5 or above in English, Maths and Science + one other.

Mechanical Engineering Principles of design, standards, mathematical theories and models, mechanical machines, statics and dynamics, materials, manufacturing process, aerodynamics, quality control, testing and measurement, systems engineering, CAD
City and Guilds T Level Technical Qualification in Design and Development for Engineering and Manufacturing (Level 3) – Mechanical Engineering
The work placement will provide an opportunity to learn and apply technical skills gained during the qualification. This placement will be within a company or organisation which is within the engineering sector or delivering engineering skill-based services. Learners will be expected to undertake 315 hours of work place learning across the two-year programme.
A variety of trips and visits into industry and universities to enhance the student experience.
The course will involve both written coursework, employer set projects and examinations.
