Creative Media Production (Games Design) UAL Level 3 DiplomaThe Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to access and progress to degree level study or employment in the media sector.
You will gain useful filmmaking skills and develop your knowledge of the media industry, engaging in both practical and theoretical aspects of production. Some of the projects will include creating a number of short films, a TV advertisement, music video and podcast. There is also the opportunity to complete an end of year project (one per year), showcasing your talent and skills in a particular area of production. This study programme is ideal if you wish to gain a Level 3 qualification and progress to university or employment.

Course information
Key areas studied will include planning, organising, narrative design, 2D games Production, basic animation and 3D modelling. You will develop knowledge of the ownership and function of games design codes and conventions, and apply this in a vocational context. The UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production (Games Design) based at Tresham college.

To begin this study programme you will need…
Duration: 2 Years
- 4 GCSEs at grades 9-4 ideally including English and maths
OR
- Creative Media Production at Level 2
- ICT Level 2
- Online Blog work
You will gain:
- UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology
Course progression: Creative Media (Film) Pearson Level 4 HNC OR Creative Media (Game Art) Pearson Level 4 HNC at Tresham College. OR onto University/ Film School
Career progression: Any career within the Creative Media sector, whether that be in film, TV, journalism, radio etc
All specialist equipment is provided by the college, however you may want to purchase your own SD card and memory stick. Additional costs for trips organised throughout the two years
Students will be required to complete work experience as part of the course, gaining placements within the industry to gain hands on experience. We will also aim to organise a number of trips across the two years. Previous trips include visiting the BBC in Birmingham and attending University open days.
Funding Information
All full-time Level 1 and Level 2 courses are now FREE for everyone, whatever their age. If you are looking to study a Level 3 qualification, courses are still free if you’re under 19 or 19-23 and studying your first full Level 3 qualification. If you’re over 23 or studying a second Level 3 qualification, you will need to pay a fee.
