Creative Media Production Beginner (Level 1)This 1 year course is designed for those with an interest in photography, graphics and media. Throughout the course you will get the opportunity to try many different aspects of Digital Media to discover what you enjoy and what you have a talent for. You will be taught by tutors that have industry experience in many different fields.
At the end of your first year you will have the opportunity to progress to Level 2 Digital Media, which will give you the chance to further your skills.
You will experience a variety of different aspects of production and consider the professional approach to these aspects. You will plan a produce some interesting products and can form the basis of a successful portfolio of work.
You will experience working as part of a larger group, will have a chance to collaborate with others and have your work produced with the help of professional filmmakers.
You will explore elements of digital media production and also explore other aspects of performing arts and production design including makeup and costume.

Entry requirements
3 GCSEs grades 9-1 OR equivalent, and a keen interest in the subject.
Other relevant levels of qualification or experience will be considered.
What qualification will I gain?
UAL Level 1 Award and Diploma in Art, Design and Media.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through several projects, which will finish with a final project that will determine your final grade for the year. The final project will determine the grade at pass, merit or distinction.

- Unit 2: Introduction to contextual research in art, design and media
- Unit 3: Introduction to communication skills in art, design and media
- Unit 4: Solving 2D creative problems
- Unit 5: Solving 3D creative problems
- Unit 6: Solving time-based creative problems
- Unit 7: Art, design and media project
The UAL Awarding Body Level 1 Award in Art, Design & Media is designed to provide an opportunity for those with an interest in art, design and media to explore materials, methods and processes that support many art, design and media activities, and to begin to develop related skills.

Funding Information
All full-time Level 1 and Level 2 courses are now FREE for everyone, whatever their age. If you are looking to study a Level 3 qualification, courses might still be free if you’re under 19 or 19-23 and studying your first full Level 3 qualification.
