This Access to Higher Education course covers Media, Games Design and Music Production skills.

Students will explore complementary digital skills that are vital for modern employees and will also lead to university courses in multiple courses. For example, Media, Games Design, Music Production, Marketing and Social media.

Entry requirements

Essential: English language GCSE or Functional Skills or to be prepared to study this alongside.

Desirable: Maths GCSE or Functional Skills

What qualification will I gain?

Level 3 Access to HE in Creative Digital Industries.

How will I be assessed?

Through Continuous Assessment.

Course content

You will study: 

Core Modules: Independent Research Project 

Other Modules such as: Research Skills, Study Skills, Games Design, Music/ sound Production, and Media Project.   

What skills will you gain?

This covers a variety of digital skills that will be useful for the Creative Digital Industries as well as core study skills such as Essay writing, research skills, presentation skills that will help the transition to Higher Education.

Next steps

Progression:

Internal progression routes include: HNC Games Design, HNC Music and HNC Creative Media Production. Also, this can lead to progression to similar courses at Universities.  

This will help career prospects in a wide range of work places- such as using Photoshop, editing software and being able to create and produce digital content.

Additional information

There will be opportunities to attend trips and access guest speakers. Access to a good spec laptop or PC at home would be beneficial, although these are available to use on site.
