Construction Site Supervisor Higher Apprenticeship Level 4 (Standard)

This Higher Apprenticeship has been developed to meet the needs of individuals working within building and construction projects, maintenance repairs, residential developments, conservation and demolition. The Site Supervisor Apprentices can take up to 3 years to complete. Job role for this apprenticeship includes: Assistant Site Manager, Assistant Supervisor or Construction Site Supervisor. The job role can also include working on built environment projects assisting budgets, ensuring contract is delivered on time and to programme, responsible for hiring staff, deliveries and quality management and costs.

Entry requirements

Grade requirements:

You will need an Advanced apprenticeship in a Construction Subject or a BTEC Level 3 in Construction or Civil Engineering. English and maths at grade 4 and above.

Other requirements:

Employment in Technical & Professional/management element of the Construction Industry.

Course content

During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, including:

  • Construction Technology
  • Science & Materials
  • Construction Practice & Management
  • Legal & Statutory Responsibilities in Construction
  • Construction information (Drawing, detailing, Specification)
  • Surveying, measuring & Setting out
  • Mathematics for construction
Assessment methods

Assessment will take place in the workplace, through observation, professional discussion, Expert Witness Testimony and the completion of a portfolio. At College, there are written assignments for each unit, and a selection of exams. All apprentices will undertake an independent end point assessment following the completion of their practical period.

CSkills Awards Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision

Further study and career options

Further study: On successful completion of this Higher Apprenticeship you can undertake a Degree in a Construction related subject.

Career progression: Construction Site Manager or supervisor.

Additional information

Steel toe capped boots, a high-viz vest and usual study stationary will be required.
