Entry requirements

Essential: A genuine interest in the plumbing industry. Successful completion of an interview

Desirable: GCSE Grade 4 and  above in both Maths and English

Technical Certificate in Plumbing Studies (8202-25) Level 2

Assessment methods

The course includes externally set and marked exams, providing an objective measure of students’ knowledge and skills. This is set in March. There is also a 2 day in day practical synoptic assessment, which will be set during the working week around April/May. You will have to attend the day time for these.

AO1 Recalls knowledge from across the breadth of the qualification. 48% AO2 Demonstrates understanding of concepts, theories and processes from a range of learning outcomes. 32%

AO4 Applies knowledge, understanding and skills from across the breadth of the qualification in an integrated and holistic way to achieve specified purposes. 20%

What skills will I gain?

This course equips you with essential practical skills such as installation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of plumbing systems, alongside technical knowledge in plumbing science, health and safety, and environmental practices.

We also develop soft skills like problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, preparing them for immediate entry into the plumbing industry and further qualifications.

The course includes hands-on practical assessments and theory exams, ensuring a comprehensive and industry-recognized education.

Course costs £1080.00.

If you are on a low income or are in receipt of benefits, you may be eligible for fee remission.

You will be required to wear appropriate clothing and PPE, to include steal to capped boots/shoes. We recommend a book to support your studies which is approximately £38. Further information given at enrolment.
