Bookkeeping AAT Level 3 Advanced CertificateThis qualification will develop complex skills and knowledge necessary to work in a bookkeeping role or to progress to higher level accountancy roles or study.
Students completing this qualification will become competent in financial processes including accounting principles and concepts, advanced bookkeeping and preparing financial statements.
They will also be introduced to business issues regarding payroll and value added tax (VAT), including an understanding of the documents and reports produced on payroll software, timescales for submissions and payments.

To start you should have:
- An AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping or AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
OR
- Relevant experience subject to passing the AAT Skills-check.
You must have a good standard of English and maths.
- Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements
This unit provides students with the skills required to produce statements of profit or loss and statements for financial position for sole traders and partnerships, using a trial balance. Students will gain the double-entry bookkeeping skills needed to record financial transactions into an organisation’s accounts using a manual bookkeeping system. - Tax Processes for Businesses
This unit explores tax processes that influence the daily operations of businesses and is designed to develop students’ skills in understanding, preparing and submitting Value Added Tax (VAT) returns to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). The unit provides students with the knowledge and skills that are needed to keep businesses, employers and clients compliant with laws and practices that apply to VAT and payroll.
AAT Advanced certificate in Bookkeeping Level 3.
Your knowledge and skills will be tested via computer based assessments (CBAs). These are run entirely on PCs or laptops.
The CBAs are wholly computer marked, and so results will be available automatically
Career progression:
If you successfully complete this qualification you can apply for AAT bookkeeping membership (AATQB).
Jobs that this course can lead to are Professional bookkeeper, Senior bookkeeper, Accounts manager and Ledger manager.

On successful completion of this course you may decide to continue to complete the full AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting.
These professional examinations require a high standard of preparation and considerable commitment if success is to be achieved.
In addition to the course fees, you will also be required to purchase a set of textbooks (approximately £60) and register with the AAT (approximately £94).

Funding Information
The College offers an instalment plan for Further Education and Higher Education courses to students where the total amount payable at the point of enrolment is £200 or more. Within the scheme there is an ability to pay up to 6 instalments, depending on the length of the courses and the final payment must be paid at least a month before the end of the course.
If you are aged 19 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. Alternatively, you can pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.
