Bench Joinery NOCN CSkills Level 2 DiplomaThis Level 2 course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and experience you will need to carry out a range of joinery work to the standards agreed by the leading industry bodies. This course will enable you to gain a good overall understanding of the wood trade, while also providing you with industry-recognised skills and qualification, ensuring that you complete the course with a good grounding for future career development.

To begin this course you will need to have completed the Carpentry & Joinery Level 1 Diploma with Functional Skills, or an equivalent level qualification in Carpentry & Joinery.
During the course you will study three core units:
- Health and safety
- Organising your own resources
- Working as part of a team.
You will also study the following additional units:
- Setting out bench joinery
- Marking out joinery
- Manufacturing joinery.
Level 2 Diploma in Bench Joinery.
You will be continuously assessed as the course progresses, with your skills and knowledge being measured against set standards as the units of training are completed. There will also be a practical exam and a series of unit tests.
On successful completion of this course you can progress to our Bench Joinery Level 3. Alternatively you can gain employment as a bench joinery apprentice, where you can convert your qualification to an NVQ Level 2 within Bedford College by collecting work-based evidence.
Students who are motivated and committed can advance at a faster rate. Completion time for adults will depend on the outcome of prior assessment of your current skills and experience, together with your attendance. After this is completed, individual training plans can be devised.

Funding Information
The College offers an instalment plan for Further Education and Higher Education courses to students where the total amount payable at the point of enrolment is £200 or more. Within the scheme there is an ability to pay up to 6 instalments, depending on the length of the courses and the final payment must be paid at least a month before the end of the course.
If you are aged 19 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. Alternatively, you can pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.
