Who is this course for?
The course is suitable for those considering a career in decorating, expanding their existing trade skills, or developing confidence in DIY projects, without the requirement for formal qualifications.
Entry requirements:
Interest in decorating.
What skills will I gain?
Learners will develop essential painting and wallpapering skills, covering surface preparation, paint application, and achieving high‑quality finishes. Topics include emulsion and gloss painting, cutting‑in techniques, stain prevention, and working safely and neatly around fixtures and fittings. Wallpapering skills include hanging lining paper, patterned and vinyl wallpapers, pattern matching, and working around corners, doors, and windows.
By the end of the course, learners will have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to complete decorating projects to a professional standard, either within the home or as a foundation for further training or employment opportunities.
