Prerequisite:
There are no formal prerequisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification.
Essential: A desire and interest in working on real life clients. Desirable: Level 1 qualification in a hair and beauty related industry.

VTCT Skills Level 2 Certificate in Barbering.
Assessment methods
There are a variety of different assessment methods used to meet the criteria of the awarding body. There is a written assessment or quiz, with every unit. Some units have an external, multiple choice, exam and for the practical assessments. There are several assessed observations, with different units. These MUST be carried out on realistic clients.

- UV20386 A/600/9065 Client consultation for hair services
- UV20483 R/600/8763 Follow health and safety practice in the salon
- UV20505 T/600/9064 Cut facial hair
What skills will I gain?
The purpose of this qualification is to develop your practical skills to a high level of occupational ability to enable you to perform your own salon services.
