To begin this study programme you will need…
Duration: 1 Year
- 1 year Level 2 Barbering qualification
The study programme consists of practical, theory, tutorials, English and Maths.
- Subject units:
- Monitor health and safety practice in the workplace
- Consultation support for colleagues on hair services
- Cut mens hair to create a variety of looks
- Cut facial hair to create a variety of looks
- Colour hair to create a variety of looks
- Creative Hairdressing design skills
- Provide shaving and face massage services
- Perm hair to create a variety of looks
- Design and create patterns in hair
- Promote and sell products and services to clients.
- English and maths:
If you don’t already have GCSE English and maths grade A*-C, we will work with you to help you develop your maths and English skills.
- Work experience:
You will need to complete work experience as part of your course.
- Personal development skills, study skills and employability skills
- Additional vocational learning and qualifications:
The programme will also involve demonstrations of current barbering trends.
Each unit will have a variety of assessment criteria. This will be covered with on-line end of unit tests, assignments and practical assessments working on clients.
- Barbering City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma
Plus
- English and maths qualifications if required
You will be qualified to work as a barber or may to continue to expand on your skills with a course in women’s hairdressing.
You will be required to purchase a kit and uniform in order to undertake our Hair & Beauty courses (TBC).
